"I Yam What I Yam" is the first cartoon in the Popeye series produced by the Fleischer Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures between 1933 and 1942. Popeye was one of the most popular cartoon stars from the 1930s through the 1960s with 600+ Popeye cartoons in existence. Popeye’s first animated appearance also introduces his theme song, "I’m Popeye the Sailor Man," composed by Sammy Lerner, giving birth to Popeye’s most famous line "I’m strong to da finish ‘cause I eats my spinach."
